It all started with a flower.

In 1993, I decided that floral design was going to be the start of my career path. I was merely a Sophomore at Musselman High School, but I couldn't help but be drawn to the art of arranging. Something about a fresh vase of flowers could brighten up anything, or anyone. I started out in a local flower shop in Inwood WV, just asking for a chance to learn. In the floral industry, roughly 95% is on the job experience.

Wedding work was something that had to be perfected because brides didn't want anything less then perfect on their wedding day. After my very 1st wedding client, - it clicked and from that moment on I was hooked. I decided that one day, I would provide a business to service Weddings and Events. Today that business is called upStaged Inc.

upStaged Inc was legally established in 2007. I have provided services for Military and Civilian Weddings and Retirements, Birthdays, Anniversaries, Reunions, Office Parties, Business Dinners, Holiday Gala's, the list of reasons to have an event are endless.

In early 2010, I took my business one step further and began incorporating services geared more towards the baking side of Events. Custom cakes for Weddings and Birthdays, Cup cakes, pies, cookies and simple chocolates - even extending out into local Fund Raisers. Baking is something I really enjoy. So much so, that I developed a program called 'Cakes 4 Kids,' which is geared towards every child having a cake for their birthday. 'Cakes 4 Kids' regularly donates cakes to the Martinsburg Children’s Shelter. The children living in the group home receive cakes for their birthdays and celebrating the night before they leave because they have been adopted into a new and loving family. 

I feel it is so important to make a positive imprint in a child’s life, not matter how big or small. Each cake is delivered with pride - and it's been contagious because even my daughter Olivia has decided to help make sure that the cakes reach the shelter with a smile. The kids are always excited to see the 'Cake Lady' at the front door, and they always great me with bright smiles to see what treat I am bringing each time. 

I am a native to Berkeley County WV. My roots are planted in WV soil. I grew up in the area; I know what beauty the tri-state area holds for Weddings and various Events. Now I proudly offer my services to you for your private and professional needs.
